Mz.Flo

Owner and founder of Flo FIYAH, LLC., Florence Walker-Harris is a phenomenal entrepreneur, visionary artist and choreographer. Florence, better known as Mz.Flo, is a native of Haiti by way of Queens, New York and has been taking the Chicago performing arts scene by storm for over 20 years. 

Mz.Flo has trained in the disciplines of Ballet, Horton, Jazz (strongly influenced by Frank Hatchet), traditional Haitian Folklore, West African, Tap and Hip Hop. She initiated the first hip hop dance program at Chicago’s famed Studio One Dance Theater in 2005. Her choreography experience ranges from musicals and plays to music videos, fashion shows, wedding dances, theatrical plays, and so much more.

Choreographing within many genres she strives to fulfill her goals while making an impression in the dance and theatrical community. Along with having an impact in the Theater, Mrs. Walker-Harris has added another hat to her list of titles as entrepreneur and president of her company FLO FIYAH LLC and her Non-Profit organization, Fiyah. Edifying. Empowering. Developing., best known as F.E.E.D. As she continues to engage, motivate, and inspire, her motto remains the same “Success is in the Journey not the Destination.”

Mz.Flo has won several awards, competitions and has been featured in national news. Her accomplishments, far too many to mention, span a range of entrepreneurship, lead choreography, placing first in national competitions and so much more.

Black Theater Alliance Best Choreography in a play for the "Scottsboro Boys" Oct 2017 and Best Production of the Year: Best Musical Midsize for the "Scottsboro Boys" Nov 2017.

  • Lead Choreographer for Nativity (Congo Square) 2016, 2017, 2018

  • Associate Choreographer for More than a Miracle, A Nativity Story.

  • Instructor at Studio One Dance Theater since 2000, Artistic Director since 2009, started and instructed the first hip hip classes in 2005.

  • Founded FloFiyah, LLC in March 2016 to empower, teach, create and inspire the creative arts across the nation. 

  • Founded the non-profit organization F.E.E.D. FIYAH.Edifying.Empowering.Developing

  • Co-Directed and Choreographed for Sophisticated Ladies, a production featured at Porchlight Music Theatre.

  • Co-Directed and Choreographed Studio One Annual Dance Recitals, Gospel Show and other outside performances, competitions and more from 2000-2020

  • Choreographer for Magic Treehouse at Emerald City Theatre.

  • 52nd Annual Equity Jeff Award Nominee Sept 2020.

  • Choreographer for Woman of the Year, 2017.

  • Choreographer for The Scottsboro Boys, 2016-2017.
